Day16 burning crusade and more

WoW expansion installed and running - blood elves are very nice. Got it for $49.95 from Target actually (updated expenditure spreadsheet)

Did some painting of my Ork dread while watching the whole of the Fellowship of the Ring. It is a beautiful piece of work! Got into the Waaagh forum again ans saw some nice stuff as usual.

Got some DAZ spam which has their platinum membership for $99US which is too much for me atm but would give a stack of discounts if I wanted to dive into their suite more wholeheartedly.

Day15 bits

Still havent got my WoW expansion yet - but it will come.
Started to look for an acredited course I can do in an application against the work $200K pool.
Found out more bits from Russell - I think a Red Centre model in Hammer/HL2 would be great.
Susie got a nice mag that shows off some interesting Vue and Poser work.

Day14 GarysMod time

Following the tute and some info from Russell, purchased garysmod for HL2 ($10US) and installed the HL2 SDK. His tute is tough going and it didnt quite come together at the end - lots of errors and things not quite going to plan. But it was still good value and I got to see how many of the tools fit together.
Garysmod is lots of fun with Q opening up a model adding toolset while ingame. very nifty.

WoW's Burning Crusade is live and selling out in lotsa places - it is a big deal and lots of the guild have it already. Hit 55 in Silithus, no sign of the changes where I was adventuring, but lots of healthy guildchat about what the others were doing.

Created a new spreadsheet in Google to track expenses for this journey.

Day13 HL2 fun on the horizon

Didnt do anything productive today (work and visitors).
But did start emailing Russell Lowe a new design academic that will join FBE who's initial software requests are UT2004 and HL2 plus a series of mods/plugins and utilities.
This should be fun.

Day12 max pawn

did the very first built in max tute - lathing the pawn - amazing how quickly you forget the details when you arent using it alot. The simple things like Alt-W to max a viewport etc. Felt good to have a play again.

Looked through the WoW Burning Crusade flash site. It is very nice as such things go, with video, great use of effects and graphics layers etc. There are a set of little games that unlock the desktop background images.

Day11 WoW and Rayshade memories

Just a good bit of chatting and some WoW playing. The cinematic trailor for the Burning Crusade is inspirational - how do they do it? Imagine if Blizzard put a full movie together of that quality.

Steve and I had a look at some old (really old) rayshade images. These were from 1990 and truly show how far this medium has come. Remembering writing up the scene in text format to render out on the Suns into .rle format - fond memories.

Day10 t-shirts

Added a 3rd t-shirt to the mix - this time for Alicia. So rather than the dino-hand it was a flying-unicorn-hand instead and together they all looked super.

re-installed HL2 for modding - it is a very pretty realtime world - great start.
