Day22 WoWing

A good healthy dose of WoWing - goal to catch the 60s with only 2 weeks to go - eeek got myself to 56 though which is something.

Watched all of the Return of the King (extended version) - some very inspired stuff again. The bit when Pippen sings for Denethol while the Gondor soldiers ride out to their doom is beautiful.
Lots of glorious 3D integration of course, from Golum to the Oliphants etc etc etc.

Add a bit of WoWing to the mix.

Day20 sketches plus

A few interesting sketches (I lik ethe tennis one) and some serious WoWing.

things I still could get for the journey:
  • art supplies (esp for the life drawing)
  • office chair (and mat)
  • headphone and mic set
  • portable HDD drive for data and backup
  • Bryce or Vue or similar
  • V4 or other cheapish modelling bits
  • Printer (colour laser vs bjet)

Day19 Hammer

Did a little more hammer work, it isnt easy for me at all yet and working with textures tricky. It is interesting seeing how much should be modelled vs textures and such.
Then to finish off - a heaps of actual HL2 (am still amazed)

Day18 DG and some Hexagon thinking

read through the DG issue (issue 126 that Susie was sent) and it has some great stuff in there from various artists. The 3D guy (Pjero) used Bryce originally and now uses Vue5 and PoserPP. I will have to try one of the 3D landscape packages soon. Plus this does show that the cheaper suites are very capable indeed.

Had a look at the Hexagon stuff on the DAZ website and it looks amazing. The video showing the modelling and then skulpting of the creature are inspiring. It only costs $119US which looks like great value for something of this quality and feature set.

Did a little HL2 (the cinematic feel is awesome - very intense) and then some WoW for good measure.

Day17 Hammer and sketching

Did the intro tutes for hammer and it was all coming back to me. Hammer is pretty good and very fast using the built-in textures etc. I will have to do some more work on how to get them to wrap around things nicely.
Then did a little room start - but the graphics was going funny. So to test I fired up HL2 and it was running beautifully - so well that I played a little. It is just sooo good.

I did a sketch for a dragon-hand for Wesley's shirt - should be fun.
Plus a nice little drawing of a thin dress warrior while watching The Two Towers - lovely stuff.

WoW was fun - tinkering with the Blood Elves a little and then takong Oggy out to slay 60s while 55 - super.
