Victory and MkII 3D print test

Over the last two days, having slotted in games of Small World and then 7 Wonders I like the idea that the winner of the game is the focus of much speculation and does change peoples choices as they try to gain points for themselves tempered with the ability to hold back whoever they feel is leading or will win.
I am keen to have this game element in Loch Dreagan as well, perhaps completing 'Desires' gives some number of immediate points, but depending on the end state of the Maiden those same desires are worth a second set of points. That has a more Ticket to Ride feel to how the points work, but that reveal at the and as players work round their collected desires to see what bonus points they have could be a fun end.

Using my limited skills with the modifier stack in 3ds Max, I fattened up the first 3D print test. The intent was to achieve two things, make the base of each piece larger and thus more stable and it actually makes the pieces so much more cute! I forgot when I printed this about the chin and the MakerBot Replicator 2 gave the piece a little stringy beard. So I created a skinny pole from the base up to the chin to support the build and here are some images of that process and the results. Note the pic with the stringy chaos over all the place was because one of the segments didn't stick to the bed. This second test is really so cute and very tactile.
